About pregnancy
The patient is a 37 weeks and 2 days pregnant woman, gravida 2 para 1, who presented with breech presentation, a condition in which the fetus is positioned in the uterus with its buttocks or feet pointing downward instead of the normal head-down position. Due to this condition, the fetus is at risk of complications such as fetal distress, umbilical cord prolapse, birth trauma (including brachial plexus injury), and head entrapment, requiring immediate medical intervention to ensure the safety of both mother and baby.

Background
Abeda Khatun is a kind, patient, and hardworking mother who dreams of safely welcoming her second child and building a better future for her family. She lives with her husband, Jalal Uddin, and their 3-year-old daughter, Marium Jannat, and the family depends entirely on her husband's small monthly income of only 6,000 BDT, making the cost of hospital care impossible to afford. Although she first sought treatment at the Upazila Health Complex, her condition did not improve, and doctors later diagnosed her with a breech presentation and mild anemia, requiring close medical supervision and possible emergency delivery. Without timely treatment, both Abeda and her unborn baby could face life-threatening complications, including obstructed labor, severe bleeding, fetal distress, and even the loss of the baby. After learning about Helpster Charity through a leaflet, the family is now seeking support to ensure a safe delivery for both mother and child.
Medical history
Abeda Khatun was admitted on 16.05.2026 at 37 weeks and 2 days of pregnancy with breech presentation. After proper clinical assessment and investigations, an emergency lower segment cesarean section (LSCS) was performed under spinal anesthesia on the same day. The operation was successful, and both mother and baby were delivered safely without complications. Postoperatively, she received proper medical management, including antibiotics, pain management, fluid therapy, and close monitoring, along with attentive nursing care. Her condition remained stable, and she showed good recovery with no signs of complications. With effective treatment and continuous observation, both mother and baby were safe and healthy. She was discharged on 19.05.2026 in stable condition with advice for follow-up care and postnatal support.
Prognosis
The recommended treatment for her is LSCS under SAB, which is the safest option to deliver the baby immediately and prevent further complications. With timely surgery, the baby is expected to recover well and lead a healthy life. However, if the delivery is delayed or left untreated, the baby may suffer from oxygen deprivation leading to permanent brain damage or even death, and the mother may also face life-threatening infection or other complications.
