Background
Khadija Akter is a caring and resilient 20-year-old mother who dreams of having a safe delivery and welcoming a healthy baby into her family. She lives with her husband, a day laborer earning only around BDT 5,000 per month, and her elderly parents-in-law, who are unable to work and depend on the family's limited income. Having already suffered the heartbreaking loss of her first baby after a difficult delivery at home, Khadija is deeply worried about the outcome of her current pregnancy. The family's income is barely enough to cover food and daily necessities, making the cost of proper medical care impossible for them to afford. Doctors have found that her baby is in a breech position, and without timely medical treatment, both Khadija and her unborn child could face serious complications during delivery, putting their lives at risk.
Medical history
The patient, khadija Akter was admitted to City Clinic on 21th May 2026. A successful cesarean section was performed the same day, and she delivered a healthy3.0 kg female baby. Both mother and child progressed well and were discharged on 26th May 2026 with proper postnatal advice. The patient and her family expressed heartfelt gratitude to Helpster, the dedicated volunteers, and City Clinic for their kind support and care throughout the treatment.
Prognosis
Lower Uterine Cesarean Section (LUCS) is a life-saving procedure for Khadija Akter in this condition. With timely surgery, the baby can be delivered safely, reducing the risks associated with breech presentation and low amniotic fluid, and preventing further complications. After the operation, Khadija is expected to recover well with proper care, and her baby has a strong chance of survival and good health. However, if left untreated, her condition could become life-threatening. The combination of breech position and less fetal movement heart activities and may lead to obstructed labor, severe fetal distress, or loss of the baby, while the mother may face serious complications such as excessive bleeding or infection. Immediate surgical intervention is therefore essential to save both lives.
