Why is treatment sometimes done earlier than the payment?
When a case is urgent and vital, hospitals often proceed with delivering medical care right away to save a life, even before the finalisation of admission procedures. Usually, when this happens, hospitals put the bill on our credit until the funds are transferred to their accounts. That’s why the chronology can sometimes be in disorder.

About emergency care
Sayim Miya has been diagnosed with with congenital pneumonia. Congenital pneumonia is a severe lung infection that develops before or shortly after birth, making breathing extremely difficult for newborn babies. Without immediate NICU care, oxygen therapy, and appropriate antibiotics, the condition can rapidly progress to respiratory failure, overwhelming infection, and even death. Newborns who experience prolonged oxygen deprivation or severe neonatal infections may also face an increased risk of developmental complications and vision-threatening conditions

Background
Baby Sayim Miya is a precious newborn whose birth brought great happiness to his parents, Salam Miya and Sharmin Begum, and his elder sister, Jannatul Maowa. However, his father earns only about BDT 10,000 per month as a CNG auto-rickshaw driver and is the sole provider for their five-member family, making it impossible to afford the high cost of emergency neonatal treatment. Shortly after birth, Sayim developed severe breathing difficulties due to congenital pneumonia, placing his fragile life in immediate danger and causing immense fear for his parents and grandfather. The family learned about Helpster Charity through volunteer Md. Alamin, who guided them toward life-saving support when they had no financial resources left. Without urgent medical treatment, the infection could rapidly worsen, leading to respiratory failure, severe complications, permanent health problems, or even loss of life
Medical history
Baby Sayim Miya was admitted to the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) of Famous Specialized Hospital & Trauma Center, Chandpur, on 20.05.2026 with congenital pneumonia and respiratory distress shortly after birth. Under the supervision of Dr. Md. Najmul Hasan, MBBS, BCS (Health), MD (Pediatric) and the dedicated NICU team, he received intensive neonatal care, including oxygen therapy, intravenous antibiotics, continuous monitoring, and specialized supportive treatment. Over the course of nine days, his breathing gradually improved, the lung infection was successfully controlled, and his overall health condition became stable. By 29.05.2026, Sayim had made a full recovery and was discharged in good health. His parents expressed immense relief and gratitude as they finally took their healthy baby home. This successful recovery was made possible through timely specialized medical care and the compassionate support of Helpster Charity and its generous donors.
Prognosis
According to NICU Consultant at Famous Specialized Hospital & Trauma Center, Sayim required immediate intensive neonatal care for congenital pneumonia and respiratory distress. His treatment included oxygen support, intravenous antibiotics, nutritional management, close monitoring of vital signs, and continuous observation in the NICU. With timely treatment, he responded well and had a good chance of full recovery. Without prompt care, his condition could have progressed to severe respiratory failure, bloodstream infection, organ damage, or even death. Fortunately, timely intervention and dedicated NICU care led to significant improvement, and Sayim was discharged in good health, giving his family hope for his recovery and future.
