Ms. Jannatul Farzana is an 18-year-old young woman who lives with her husband, parents, and elderly grandfather in a small mud-and-tin house in Barishal. The family survives on the modest earnings of her husband, a rented rickshaw puller, and her father, a day laborer, whose combined income is barely enough to cover food and basic household expenses, making medical treatment unaffordable. Farzana is a gentle, responsible, and hardworking young woman who always supports her family despite their difficult circumstances. When she developed severe abdominal pain, vomiting, and high fever due to acute appendicitis, her condition rapidly worsened, causing significant weakness and distress. Without urgent surgery, her appendix could rupture, leading to severe abdominal infection, sepsis, organ failure, and potentially life-threatening complications. The family learned about Helpster Charity through a medical outreach program conducted by Mr. Anwar Hossain Anu and Mr. Meghlal Roy.

Jannatul Farjana was admitted to Al Aqsa Hospital and Diagnostic Center on 22 May 2026 with severe abdominal pain, fever, and vomiting caused by acute appendicitis. After thorough evaluation, she underwent a successful Open Appendectomy on 23 May 2026, which removed the infected appendix and prevented potentially life-threatening complications. During her 4-day hospital stay, she received postoperative care, medications, wound management, and close medical monitoring, and her condition improved steadily with good wound healing. She was discharged on 25 May 2026 in stable condition and is expected to make a full recovery with continued follow-up care. Jannatul and her family express their heartfelt gratitude to Helpster Charity, volunteers Mr. Anwar Hossain Anu and Mr. Meghlal Roy, and the dedicated doctors, nurses, and staff of Al Aqsa Hospital and Diagnostic Center for their generous support, financial assistance, and compassionate care that helped restore her health and bring hope to her family.

According to the treating doctors, Appendectomy (surgical removal of the appendix) is the definitive treatment for Jannatul Farjana’s acute appendicitis and offers an excellent chance of complete recovery. The surgery will remove the infected appendix, relieve her abdominal pain, fever, and vomiting, and prevent the infection from spreading further. Following successful surgery and postoperative care, she is expected to return to her normal daily activities and enjoy a healthy life without long-term complications. However, if the condition is left untreated, the inflamed appendix may rupture, causing severe abdominal infection (peritonitis), abscess formation, sepsis, and multiple organ dysfunction. These complications can rapidly become life-threatening and may require prolonged hospitalization, intensive care, and more complex surgical treatment. Therefore, timely appendectomy is essential to protect her health and save her life.
