Usually, when this happens, hospitals put the bill on our credit until the funds are transferred to their accounts. That’s why the chronology can sometimes be in disorder.

Malaria is a life-threatening blood disease caused by parasites that are transmitted to humans through the bites of infected female Anopheles mosquitoes. It typically presents with high fevers, shaking chills, and flu-like symptoms, but can rapidly progress to severe organ failure or death if left untreated. Asthma is a chronic respiratory disease characterized by ongoing inflammation and narrowing of the airways inside the lungs. This condition causes recurrent episodes of wheezing, shortness of breath, chest tightness, and coughing, which are typically triggered by factors like dust, cold air, or physical exercise

Background
Aisha Mustapha is a three year old girl who lives with her parents and two older brothers in a small cement house near the well in Birniwa town. Her father works as a tailor, repairing clothes at the local market, while her mother sells vegetables by the roadside. Aisha is an energetic child who loves singing songs she learns from her older brothers and dancing around the compound. She attends a small home based nursery where she is learning the alphabet. For four months Aisha had repeated episodes of coughing that seemed worse after running around, at night and early in the morning. Her mother often woke up to find Aisha sitting up in bed struggling to catch her breath. Three days before the clinic visit, Aisha developed a high fever, with headache and weakness. Her cough became much worse, and her mother noticed a whistling sound coming from her chest. She became worried when the fever did not go away after two days of paracetamol. A neighbor told her about Adari Medical Clinic, so she carried Aisha there on the third day. On examination, she was diagnosed with Malaria infection with Asthmatic Attack.
Medical history
Aisha, a young girl with fever and a 4-month history of nighttime cough and wheezing, was diagnosed with malaria and previously unrecognized asthma. She was treated as an outpatient with antimalarial medicine and given an inhaler with a spacer, along with caregiver education. Her symptoms improved within hours, and she was discharged stable. Thanks to Helpster Charity Foundation, she received her first proper diagnosis and ongoing care plan.
Prognosis
Aisha was diagnosed with mild Plasmodium falciparum malaria and newly identified asthma, with the malaria infection acting as a dangerous trigger that severely worsened her underlying airway swelling and wheezing. Consequently, she did not require hospital admission and was successfully managed entirely as an outpatient with targeted malaria medications and new rescue inhalers Aisha was diagnosed with mild malaria and newly identified asthma, requiring targeted antimalarial therapy and inhalers to resolve her symptoms and manage her previously untreated airway inflammation. While untreated asthma risks severe emergency attacks and permanent lung damage, her overall prognosis is excellent for a normal, active life if she adheres to her treatment and follow-up care
