Joynob Akter is a 3-year-old girl who has struggled with feeding and speech difficulties since birth because of a tongue-tie condition. She lives with her parents, and her father, the imam of a small village mosque, earns only a modest income that is barely enough to support the family, making the cost of surgery impossible to afford. Despite her challenges, Joynob is a cheerful and affectionate child who brings immense joy to her parents, especially her father, who dreams of seeing her grow up healthy and confident. Her difficulty eating has often left her weak and vulnerable to illness, causing constant worry for her mother and father. Without timely treatment, she may continue to suffer from poor feeding, malnutrition, delayed speech development, recurrent infections, and poor growth. In severe cases, chronic nutritional deficiency and repeated illness can seriously affect her overall development and health, placing her at increased risk of life-threatening complications related to severe malnutrition and infection. The family came to know about Helpster Charity through volunteer Jamilur Reza, who guided them in seeking the medical support their daughter urgently needs.

After learning about the free medical services provided by Helpster Charity, Joynob Akter and her family came to us on 13 May 2026 seeking treatment for her tongue-tie condition. Upon arrival, we arranged for her to be examined by one of our physicians. After a thorough evaluation, the doctor recommended several diagnostic tests and determined that surgery was necessary to correct the condition. We facilitated all the required examinations, and on the same day, 13 May 2026, Joynob successfully underwent surgery performed by a qualified surgeon. The operation was completed successfully and without complications. Following the procedure, Joynob received proper medical care and gradually made a full recovery. On 16 May 2026, she was discharged from the hospital in good health and returned home with her family. Joynob’s family is overjoyed by her recovery. They feel fortunate to have received free medical treatment through Helpster Charity and have expressed their heartfelt gratitude and appreciation for the support they received. Today, Joynob is enjoying a healthier and happier life, bringing immense joy and relief to her family. According to the treating doctors, Frenotomy under General Anesthesia (GA) is a safe and effective procedure that will release the tight tissue beneath Joynob’s tongue, allowing normal tongue movement. The treatment is expected to improve her ability to eat, swallow, speak clearly, and support healthy growth and development. Following the procedure, she should be able to feed more comfortably and achieve better speech development as she grows. If left untreated, Joynob may continue to suffer from feeding difficulties, poor nutrition, delayed speech, and recurrent health problems related to inadequate food intake. In severe cases, chronic malnutrition and poor growth can weaken her overall health and increase the risk of serious illness, affecting her long-term development and quality of life.
