Why is treatment sometimes done earlier than the payment?

When a case is urgent and vital, hospitals often proceed with delivering medical care right away to save a life, even before the finalisation of admission procedures. Usually, when this happens, hospitals put the bill on our credit until the funds are transferred to their accounts. That’s why the chronology can sometimes be in disorder.

About urology

Nusrat Jahan has been diagnosed with a Right Inguinal Hernia, a condition in which a portion of abdominal tissue protrudes through a weak area in the groin, causing visible swelling and pain. The swelling often becomes more noticeable during coughing, sneezing, physical activity, or straining and may cause significant discomfort. If left untreated, the hernia can become trapped, leading to severe pain, bowel obstruction, loss of blood supply to the affected tissue, and other serious complications

Background

Nusrat Jahan is a 7-year-old girl who loves playing with her friends and taking part in sports, but her childhood has been overshadowed by a painful hernia that has troubled her for the past year. She lives with her parents in a financially struggling family where her father works as a day laborer and earns only BDT 6,000–7,000 per month, barely enough to provide food and basic necessities, making the cost of surgery impossible to afford. Despite her condition, Nusrat remains cheerful, brave, and eager to continue her studies and daily activities. Her parents are deeply worried as the swelling and pain have become more severe, affecting her comfort and quality of life. Without timely surgery, the hernia may become trapped, causing bowel obstruction, severe infection, tissue death, and other life-threatening complications that could require emergency treatment. The family learned about Helpster Charity through volunteer Jamilur Reza and sought support for Nusrat’s urgent medical care.

Medical history

On 17 May 2026, Nusrat Jahan's father learned about the free medical treatment program offered by Helpster Charity and immediately brought his daughter to Modern Hospital for treatment. Upon her arrival, Nusrat Jahan was promptly examined by an attending physician. After assessing her condition, the doctor recommended several diagnostic tests and concluded that surgery was necessary. All the required tests were completed, and she was admitted to the hospital for surgery on the same day, 17 May 2026. The operation began at 1:30 PM and was successfully completed without complications. Following the surgery, Nusrat Jahan gradually recovered under the careful supervision of the doctors and the regular follow-up care provided by the nursing staff. On 19 May 2026, she was discharged from the hospital in stable condition and safely returned home. Nusrat Jahan's parents are extremely happy about her recovery. During this difficult time, they felt truly fortunate to receive support from Helpster Charity. They expressed their heartfelt gratitude and appreciation to Helpster Charity for standing by their family and also extended their sincere thanks to the entire medical team at Modern Hospital for their dedicated care, compassion, and support throughout her treatment and recovery.

Prognosis

According to the treating doctors, Herniotomy under General Anesthesia (GA) will permanently repair Nusrat’s inguinal hernia, relieving her pain and swelling and allowing her to return to normal activities. With timely surgery, she is expected to make a full recovery and enjoy a healthy childhood. If left untreated, the hernia may become trapped and lose its blood supply, leading to severe pain, bowel obstruction, infection, and potentially life-threatening complications. Therefore, early surgical treatment is essential to protect her health and well-being.
