Reshmi Akter is an intelligent and determined 11-year-old girl who lives with her parents and four siblings in a fragile shelter under severe financial hardship. Her father is the family's only earning member and works as a day laborer, making it impossible for them to afford the cost of hospitalization and ongoing medical treatment. When Reshmi developed dengue fever with severe abdominal pain, weakness, breathing difficulty, and loss of appetite, her condition gradually worsened, leaving her family deeply worried about her health. The family learned about Helpster Charity through Helpster volunteer Abu Sayeed while searching for support for her treatment. Without proper medical care and close monitoring, her dengue infection and abdominal complications could become life-threatening and seriously affect her recovery and future well-being.

Reshmi Akter, an 11-year-old female child, was admitted to Orion Hospital on 16.04.2026 through Helpster volunteer Abu Sayeed with complaints of high fever for several days, severe abdominal pain, generalized body pain, and marked weakness. Upon admission, detailed clinical evaluation and necessary investigations were conducted. Based on the clinical findings and investigation reports, she was diagnosed with Dengue Fever with Acute Severe Tonsillitis. The patient was managed with close monitoring, supportive care for dengue fever, treatment for tonsillitis, fluid and electrolyte correction, nutritional support, and other necessary medical interventions. She remained hospitalized for 07 days under careful observation and treatment. Gradual clinical improvement was observed during her hospital stay, and she was discharged on 23.04.2026 in stable condition with prescribed medications, medical advice, and follow-up instructions. The treatment expenses were fully supported by Helpster Charity. The patient’s family expresses sincere gratitude to Helpster Charity, its dedicated volunteers, and the hospital team for their compassionate support and care during this difficult time.

With immediate hospitalization, close monitoring, and appropriate supportive care, Reshmi has a good chance of recovery. Proper management of dengue fever with fluid and electrolyte correction can help prevent complications such as dehydration, bleeding, and shock, while treatment of acute abdomen and respiratory support will improve her overall condition and feeding ability. Nutritional support will further help restore her strength and recovery, enabling her to gradually return to normal daily activities. However, if left untreated, her condition may rapidly become life-threatening. Dengue fever can progress to severe dengue with bleeding, shock, or organ failure, while persistent abdominal complications and breathing difficulty may cause further clinical deterioration. Without timely medical intervention, these combined conditions could result in serious complications and significant risk to her life.
