Why is treatment sometimes done earlier than the payment?
When a case is urgent and vital, hospitals often proceed with delivering medical care right away to save a life, even before the finalisation of admission procedures. Usually, when this happens, hospitals put the bill on our credit until the funds are transferred to their accounts. That’s why the chronology can sometimes be in disorder.

Background
Hauwa is a 1-year-old from a family with little money, where her father, a farmer, hasn't been able to work for years. She often cries around people she doesn't know but enjoys playing with her toys. About a week ago, she started having severe coughing fits, fever, didn't want to eat, and was vomiting. Her cough is really strong and makes her vomit and feel pain in her chest. The doctors have diagnosed her with Pertussis, also known as whooping cough, and she urgently needs medical care.
Medical history
A case of pertusis with Acute Plasmodiasis who was admitted for treatment on 1st January, 2024.She was presented toour health facility with the complaints of Paroxymal cough associated with vomiting,intermittent fever with preceding history of diarrhea. At UMD, she was quickly assessed, investigated and treatment commenced. She was placed on antibiotics,antimalarial drugs intravenous fluid to rehydrate the lost body fluid and electrolytes and boost her system. She recovered from sickness and was discharged on 3rd January, 2024. She feels better,happier and cheerful.
Prognosis
Treatment for pertussis, or whooping cough, primarily involves antibiotics to help control the infection and reduce the spread of the disease.
