Saiful Islam is a cheerful and courageous 5-year-old Rohingya refugee boy who dreams of becoming a doctor and helping sick people in his community. He lives with his parents and siblings in a fragile UNHCR shelter inside the refugee camp, where his father earns a small income as a daily wage laborer that is barely enough to provide food and other basic necessities, making the cost of surgery impossible to afford. Several of his siblings also suffer from chronic tonsillitis, adding to the family's emotional and financial burden. Doctors have warned that if Saiful's acute exacerbation of chronic adenotonsillitis with adenoid hypertrophy is left untreated, he may develop worsening airway obstruction, recurrent severe infections, poor nutrition, sleep-related breathing problems, delayed growth, and, in severe cases, life-threatening breathing complications. The family learned about Helpster Charity through social worker Md. Mizanur Rahman, giving them hope that Saiful can receive the treatment he urgently needs and enjoy a healthy childhood.

The doctors have recommended definitive surgical treatment through Adenotonsillectomy, which is expected to significantly improve Maymuna’s quality of life. After the surgery, her breathing will become normal, her throat pain will resolve, and she will be able to eat, sleep, and grow properly like a healthy child. The procedure will also prevent repeated infections and reduce the risk of long-term complications. However, if left untreated, her condition may worsen, leading to severe breathing obstruction, frequent infections, poor nutrition, and delayed growth. In the worst case, the airway blockage and ongoing complications could become life-threatening, making timely surgery essential for her recovery and future well-being.
