Background
Falmata is a three-year-old girl from a poor family. Her father works as a bricklayer. She loves to play, eat, and spend time with her toys. About five days ago, she started having sudden and severe coughing fits, along with fever, loss of appetite, and vomiting. The coughing is so bad that it makes her vomit and her chest hurts. She tried some different medicine, but the cough didn't go away. Now, doctors say she has pertussis, a serious illness, and she needs treatment right away.
Medical history
Falamata was brought to UMD Medical Clinic with complaints of paroxysmal cough, fever, dyspnea, and a history of vomiting and diarrhea. She was diagnosed with pertussis (whooping cough). Treatment primarily involved antibiotics to control the infection and reduce its spread, ensuring a better quality of life for her. Falamata was admitted for treatment on January 5, 2024, and discharged on January 7, 2024. Her family is happy because she has recovered from her illness.
