Ariful Islam Junaid is a 9-year-old boy who studies in the third grade and dreams of becoming a doctor in the future. He lives with his parents and two younger brothers in a small bamboo-and-tin house, where his father is the sole earning member and struggles to support the family by driving a rented auto-rickshaw. Due to their limited income, the family cannot afford the cost of surgery and medical treatment for Junaid’s condition. He has been suffering from a painful swelling in his groin, which affects his ability to play, walk comfortably, and enjoy daily activities with his brothers. Without timely treatment, the hernia could become trapped and lead to severe pain, serious complications, and a potentially life-threatening emergency. The family learned about Helpster Charity through Helpster Volunteer Mohammad Younus.

Ashraful Islam Junaid, a 09-year-old male child, was admitted on 01.06.2026 with complaints of right-sided scrotal swelling, associated with intermittent groin pain and swelling for one year at Orion Hospital through Helpster volunteer Mohammad Younus . On admission, a thorough clinical examination and necessary investigations were performed to confirm the diagnosis. The patient was diagnosed with a right-sided reducible incomplete direct hernia and subsequently underwent herniotomy (inguinal hernia repair) under General Anesthesia. Post-operative care, including pain management, wound care, and follow-up, was provided to ensure full recovery. He remained hospitalized for four days, and the operation was performed on 02.06.2026. The patient was discharged on 05.06.2026 in a stable condition with medications, dietary advice, and follow-up instructions. The treatment expenses were fully supported by Helpster Charity, and the family expresses sincere gratitude to Helpster, its volunteers, and the hospital team for their kind support and care.

Doctors have recommended a herniotomy (inguinal hernia repair) to correct Ashraful Islam Junayed’s condition and prevent further complications. With proper postoperative care, including pain management, wound care, and regular follow-up visits, he is expected to make a full recovery and return to normal childhood activities without pain or restriction. The procedure will relieve his recurring discomfort, improve his ability to play and perform daily activities, and allow him to grow and develop like other children his age. However, if left untreated, the hernia may become trapped or obstructed, cutting off blood supply to the intestine and leading to a life-threatening emergency. Timely surgery will not only restore his health but also protect his future well-being and development
