Parvin Akter is an 8-year-old Rohingya girl who studies in the second grade and lovingly cares for her 4-year-old younger brother. She lives with her parents and brother in a refugee camp, where the family depends mainly on food assistance and struggles to meet even their basic needs, making it impossible to afford medical treatment. Parvin has been suffering from severe throat pain, difficulty swallowing, breathing problems, and disturbed sleep, which have affected her ability to eat, study, and carry out daily activities. Her condition has caused significant discomfort and has greatly affected her overall well-being. Without timely treatment, her breathing and swallowing difficulties could worsen, leading to serious health complications and a further decline in her health. The family learned about Helpster Charity through Helpster Volunteer Abu Sayeed.

Parvin Akter, an 08-year-old girl, was admitted to Orion Hospital on 08.06.2026 through Helpster volunteer Abu Sayeed with complaints of severe throat pain associated with painful swallowing, progressively worsening with high-grade intermittent fever, marked difficulty in swallowing leading to reduced oral intake, persistent nasal obstruction, mouth breathing, disturbed sleep, loud snoring with breathing difficulty, nasal voice, and difficulty breathing through the nose. Following admission, detailed clinical evaluation and necessary laboratory investigations confirmed the diagnosis of Acute Exacerbation of Chronic Adenotonsillitis with Adenoid Hypertrophy. She was managed with immediate hospitalization and supportive treatment for stabilization, after which she successfully underwent Adenotonsillectomy under General Anesthesia (GA). Post-operative care, including pain management, hydration, antibiotics, nutritional support, and regular monitoring, was provided to ensure an uneventful recovery. She remained hospitalized for a total of four days (08.06.2026 to 12.06.2026) and was discharged in stable condition with appropriate medications, dietary advice, and follow-up instructions. The treatment expenses were fully supported by Helpster Charity, and the family expresses sincere gratitude to Helpster, its volunteers, and the hospital team for their kind support and care.

The doctors have recommended definitive surgical treatment through Adenotonsillectomy, which is expected to significantly improve quality of life. After the surgery, her breathing will become normal, her throat pain will resolve, and she will be able to eat, sleep, and grow properly like a healthy child. The procedure will also prevent repeated infections and reduce the risk of long-term complications. However, if left untreated, her condition may worsen, leading to severe breathing obstruction, frequent infections, poor nutrition, and delayed growth. In the worst case, the airway blockage and ongoing complications could become life-threatening, making timely surgery essential for her recovery and future well-being.
