Nushaifa is a young child under two years of age and the only daughter of her parents, who dream of seeing her grow up healthy and receive a good education. She lives with her parents in a small house with mud walls and a tin roof, where her father works as a laborer and is the family's only source of income. The family's limited earnings are barely enough to meet daily needs, making it impossible to afford proper medical treatment when Nushaifa became seriously ill. After suffering from severe diarrhea for several days, she became weak and severely dehydrated, causing great concern for her parents. Without timely treatment, severe dehydration can quickly become life-threatening for a child of her age and may lead to serious complications. The family learned about Helpster Charity through Helpster Volunteer Abu Sayeed and sought support for her treatment.

Nushaifa, a 24-month-old female child, was admitted to Orion Hospital on 01.06.2026 through Helpster volunteer Abu Sayeed with complaints of watery loose stools more than six times within six hours, high-grade fever associated with weakness and lethargy, and severe abdominal cramps causing continuous crying and restlessness. Upon admission, she underwent clinical evaluation and necessary investigations and was diagnosed with Acute Severe Watery Diarrhea leading to Severe Dehydration. She was hospitalized for close monitoring and received intravenous fluid and electrolyte support, infection control measures, pain management, medications, nutritional support, and continuous assessment to prevent complications and ensure recovery. After one day of inpatient treatment and careful monitoring, her condition improved satisfactorily. She remained hospitalized for a total of one day and was discharged on 02.06.2026 in stable condition with appropriate advice, medications, and follow-up instructions. The treatment expenses were fully supported by Helpster Charity, and the family expresses sincere gratitude to Helpster, its volunteers, and the hospital team for their kind support and care.

Doctors have advised immediate hospitalization for management of acute severe watery diarrhea with severe dehydration. The treatment plan includes aggressive IV fluid and electrolyte replacement, close monitoring of vital signs, stool investigations, fever and pain management, infection control measures, and comprehensive supportive care to restore hydration and stabilize the child’s condition. With timely treatment, careful monitoring, and adequate nutritional support, the child has a good chance of gradual recovery and return to normal health without long-term complications. However, if treatment is delayed or not provided adequately, severe fluid and electrolyte imbalance may lead to circulatory collapse, kidney dysfunction, shock, multi-organ complications, and potentially severe disability or even death.
