Aleya Begum is a brave and determined 11-year-old girl who loves reading her schoolbooks and dreams of completing her education to build a better future for her family. She lives with her parents, elder brother, and younger sister in Geneva Camp, where her father is the only earning member, working as a day laborer with a monthly income of only BDT 9,000, making it impossible for the family to afford the cost of her lifesaving treatment while meeting their basic daily needs. She has been diagnosed with severe pneumonia and a tubercular neck abscess, and without timely treatment, the lung infection and neck abscess could spread throughout her body, causing respiratory failure, bloodstream infection (sepsis), severe malnutrition, multiple organ failure, and other potentially life-threatening complications. The family learned about Helpster Charity through a medical outreach camp organized by Helpster Charity in Geneva Camp, Dhaka, giving them hope when they had no other way to save their daughter

Aleya Begum, was successfully admitted to Al-Manar Hospital on June 1, 2026, at 5:36 PM following crucial intervention and financial backing from Helpster Charity to address her critical health crisis. During her five-day hospital stay, she received life-saving conservative medical treatment, including dedicated oxygen inhalation therapy and target-specific intravenous antibiotics to safely resolve her severe pneumonia. To treat her agonizing tubercular neck abscess, the surgical team performed an urgent incision and drainage (I&D) procedure to thoroughly clear the infected fluid, which was complemented by a routine of regular protective wound dressings. After her breathing stabilized and the acute localized infection subsided, she was officially discharged on June 5, 2026, with a specialized regimen of home recovery medications and nasal sprays. Today, she is resting comfortably in her camp shelter while her family awaits the vital lymph node biopsy results, moving forward with renewed hope as she steadily path-corrects toward reclaiming her health and education.

According to the treating doctor, oxygen therapy, intravenous antibiotics, incision and drainage of the neck abscess, regular wound dressing, and lymph node biopsy are essential to control Aleya's severe pneumonia and treat the neck infection. If tuberculosis is confirmed, anti-tuberculosis (Anti-TB) medication will be started immediately. With timely treatment, her breathing is expected to improve, the infection will gradually resolve, and she has a good chance of making a full recovery and returning to her normal life. However, if left untreated, the pneumonia and neck abscess may spread to the lungs and bloodstream, causing respiratory failure, sepsis, destruction of surrounding tissues, multiple organ failure, and other potentially life-threatening complications.
