Asharvin is a 10-year-old boy and the second-born child in a family of three children. He is a Grade 3 pupil and lives with his single mother in the home that once belonged to his grandparents, who are now deceased. The family resides in a modest one-room mud-walled house. His mother has no stable source of income, making it difficult to meet the family's daily needs. Despite these challenges, Asharvin is committed to his education and enjoys attending school, although he has to walk a long distance each day to reach his classroom. Asharvin had been well until he developed fever, generalized body weakness, pallor, and severe pain affecting his bones and joints. The pain became so intense that he cried continuously and appeared visibly distressed. According to his mother, he became increasingly weak, lethargic, and unwell. Unable to afford transport, she sought help from a neighbor, who assisted them in reaching a nearby dispensary. Upon assessment, his condition was found to be worsening, prompting an urgent referral to Siaya County Referral Hospital for further evaluation and treatment. Investigations revealed severe anaemia, malaria infection, and a painful sickle cell crisis. Due to the seriousness of his condition, he was admitted for inpatient management and close monitoring.

Asharvin, 10-year-old boy, was brought to hospital after complaining to her mother of severe body pains, general weakness, high fever, dizziness, and difficulty walking. The mother reported that the pain started suddenly and became worse, affecting the joints and limbs. She also noticed that Asharvin looked very weak, pale, and had reduced appetite.The mother opted to take Asharvin to the Siaya County Referral Hospital Upon medical assessment, she was diagnosed with a painful crisis related to Sickle Cell Disease, severe malaria Malaria, and severe Anemia requiring urgent treatment and close monitoring This led to the admission for close monitoring. Asharvin presented to hospital very ill and weak.He was worried on his recovery.The patient was put on the following medication, Po Folic acid 5mg Po Pcm 500mg TDS × 3/7 PO Brufen 290 mg TDS × 3/4 among others He started responding positively and recuperating well. Upon the home visit the patient has fully recovered and back to school. The mother and Asharvin are greatfull and appreciates Helpster Charity for saving his life.

Asharvin being a patient who is suffering from severe malaria complicated by severe anaemia and a painful sickle cell crisis. The combined conditions have resulted in significant physical illness characterized by fever, weakness, pallor, and severe pain. The patient requires prompt medical treatment, close monitoring, adequate hydration, pain management, and treatment of the malaria infection. Blood transfusion may be considered if the anaemia is severe and clinically indicated. The prognosis is guarded in the acute phase due to the severity of the illness and the risk of complications. However, with timely and appropriate medical management, the prognosis is generally good, and the patient is expected to recover from the current episode. Continued follow-up and comprehensive sickle cell care are necessary to prevent future crises and complications.
