About pregnancy
The patient is a 35-week-and-5-day pregnant woman, gravida 2, para 1, with a twin pregnancy in which one fetus is in breech presentation and the other is in cephalic presentation. Breech presentation is a condition in which the fetus is positioned in the uterus with its buttocks or feet pointing downward instead of the usual head-down position. Due to this complication, the fetuses are at increased risk of developing fetal distress, umbilical cord prolapse, birth trauma such as brachial plexus injury, and head entrapment, requiring immediate medical intervention to ensure the safety of both the mother and the babies.

Background
Afroza Begum is a gentle and hardworking mother who dreams of safely welcoming her twins and giving her children a better future despite living in poverty. She lives with her husband, Md. Kajol, their 4-year-old son Md. Rubayet, and her elderly mother-in-law, Hasna Begum, all of whom depend on her husband's small monthly income of only 6,000 BDT, making the cost of specialized maternity care impossible to afford. Doctors diagnosed her with a twin pregnancy, with one baby in a breech position, making her pregnancy high-risk and requiring close medical supervision and possible emergency delivery. Without timely treatment, both Afroza and her unborn babies could face life-threatening complications, including obstructed labor, severe bleeding, fetal distress, premature birth, or even the loss of one or both babies. After learning about Helpster Charity through a leaflet, the family is humbly seeking support to ensure a safe delivery and protect the lives of both the mother and her twins.
Medical history
Afroza Begum was admitted on 05.06.2026 with a 35-week-and-5-day twin pregnancy, in which one fetus was in breech presentation and the other was in cephalic presentation. Considering the high-risk nature of the pregnancy, she underwent a Lower Segment Caesarean Section (LSCS) on the same day. The operation was successful, and both babies were delivered safely without complications. Following the surgery, she received appropriate medical management, postoperative treatment, and regular nursing care, which supported her smooth recovery. As her condition remained stable and satisfactory, she was discharged in a safe and improved condition on 08.06.2026.
Prognosis
The recommended treatment for her is LSCS under SAB, which is the safest option for delivering the babies and preventing further complications. With timely surgery, both babies are expected to be delivered safely and are likely to recover well and lead healthy lives. However, if delivery is delayed or the condition is left untreated, the babies may develop fetal distress, umbilical cord prolapse, birth trauma such as brachial plexus injury, and head entrapment, requiring immediate medical intervention to ensure the safety of both the mother and the babies.
