Eugine A., 16

Eugine is a 16-year-old boy from a family of three children. Following the separation of his parents, the family experienced significant financial and social hardships. His mother became the sole provider and supports the family through casual labor, mainly working on farms. Due to these challenges, the children were placed under the care of different relatives. Eugine currently lives with his uncle, while his siblings stay with other relatives, limiting regular contact with both his mother and siblings. Eugine is a Form Three student at Ulamba School. He reports facing difficult living conditions, including heavy domestic responsibilities and labor demands while trying to keep up with his education. Following a disagreement and physical altercation with his uncle, Eugine allegedly ingested an organophosphate pesticide commonly used for termite control. Shortly afterward, he developed excessive salivation, sweating, tearing of the eyes, nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, diarrhea, breathing difficulties, muscle weakness, and other symptoms consistent with acute poisoning. He was rushed to a health facility, where he received emergency medical treatment and was stabilized. Given the circumstances surrounding the incident, he was referred for further psychosocial assessment, counseling, and family support services to address the underlying emotional and family challenges and to promote his overall wellbeing and safety.

The patient was received in the hospital in a very bad condition, He has been discharged home with psychological review done, he is happy his life was saved and recuperating well at home. He has embarked to his normal life and back to school.The psychotherapy will be in 2 weeks from date of discharged.
