About pregnancy
The patient is a 33-week pregnant woman, gravida 1, who presented with breech presentation, a condition in which the fetus is positioned in the uterus with its buttocks or feet pointing downward instead of the usual head-down position. Due to this complication, the fetus is at increased risk of developing fetal distress, umbilical cord prolapse, birth trauma such as brachial plexus injury, and head entrapment, requiring immediate medical intervention to ensure the safety of both the mother and the baby.

Background
Most. Nurani is a calm and resilient 16-year-old expectant mother who lives with her husband and elderly mother-in-law in a family of three, doing her best to care for her family despite their difficult circumstances. Her husband, who is autistic, is the family's only earning member and works as a day laborer, earning approximately BDT 6,000 per month, which is barely enough to provide food and other basic necessities, leaving the family unable to afford the cost of hospitalization, medicines, investigations, and delivery-related care. After learning about Helpster Charity through a relative, the family sought assistance in the hope of ensuring a safe delivery for Nurani and her unborn baby. Despite exhausting their limited resources, they cannot continue her treatment without financial support. Without timely medical care and close monitoring, her breech pregnancy may progress to obstructed labour, fetal distress, umbilical cord prolapse, severe maternal bleeding, birth injury, stillbirth, and other life-threatening complications that could endanger both the mother and her baby.
Medical history
Most. Nurani was admitted to the hospital on 21.05.2026 with a 33-week pregnancy complicated by breech presentation. Considering the risks to both the mother and baby, an LSCS was performed on the same day. The operation was successful, and the baby was delivered safely. Following the surgery, she received appropriate medical treatment, continuous monitoring, and quality nursing care, which supported her recovery. Both the mother and baby remained in stable condition and were discharged from the hospital on 24.05.2026 in good health.
Prognosis
The recommended treatment for her is LSCS under SAB, which is the safest option for delivering the baby and preventing further complications. With timely surgery, the baby is expected to be delivered safely, recover well, and lead a healthy life. However, if delivery is delayed or the condition is left untreated, the baby may suffer from fetal distress, umbilical cord prolapse, birth trauma such as brachial plexus injury, and head entrapment, requiring immediate medical intervention to ensure the safety of both the mother and the baby.
