Calvin is the youngest child in a family of four children. He lives with both parents, his siblings, and a cousin in a one-bedroom mud-walled house without electricity. His mother is a homemaker, while his father is the sole breadwinner, relying mainly on farming and occasional casual jobs to support the family. According to his mother, Calvin had been unwell for two days, experiencing cough, fever, runny nose, reduced appetite, and general weakness. In an attempt to help him, she gave him paracetamol syrup that was available at home, but the medication was only enough for one day. Due to financial constraints, the parents could not afford medication for all four children who also developed the symptoms and instead used their limited resources to transport them to the hospital. Upon arrival, Calvin appeared weak, lethargic, and visibly unwell. Following medical assessment, he and his siblings were admitted to the ward for further evaluation, close monitoring, and treatment. The family learned about Helpster Charity at the facility after the mother explained their financial difficulties and appealed for assistance, as they were unable to meet the cost of care.

CALVIN WAS MANAGED WITH ANTIMALARIALS, ANTIBIOTICS, ANTIVOMITUS, CORTICOSTEROIDS AND OTHER DRUGS AS PER THE MEDICAL REPORT. HE RESPONDED SO WELL TO THE CARE AND MANAGEMENT THAT WAS GIVEN TO HIM AND STABILIZED. HE WAS THEN DISCHARGED HOME ON ORAL MEDICATIONS TO CONTINUE WITH AT HOME.

Doctor's Opinion and Prognosis Calvin was diagnosed with severe pneumonia, a serious lung infection that had significantly affected his health, resulting in fever, persistent cough, poor appetite, weakness, and general illness. At the time of admission, he appeared lethargic and unwell, warranting close medical monitoring and treatment. Severe pneumonia can rapidly progress to respiratory distress, low oxygen levels, and other life-threatening complications if not treated promptly. Fortunately, Calvin was brought to the hospital in time and started on appropriate therapy. His prognosis is good, provided he continues to respond to treatment, completes the prescribed medications, receives adequate nutrition and follow-up care. With proper management, a full recovery is expected.
