Stellah is the second-born child in a family of six children. Both of her parents are alive. Her mother is a peasant farmer, while her father works as a fisherman. Due to financial difficulties and limited support from her father, Stellah was unable to continue her education and dropped out of school while in Grade Six. In April 2025, she got married to a fisherman and now lives with her husband in a modest two-room mud-walled house with a mud floor. She hopes to one day enroll in a polytechnic institution to study tailoring and build a career as a tailor. During her free time, she enjoys listening to gospel music. Stellah suspected she was pregnant after missing her menstrual periods for two months and experiencing symptoms such as dizziness, headaches, and breast changes. The pregnancy was confirmed at Got Agulu Sub-County Hospital, where she was enrolled in antenatal care services. As the pregnancy progressed, she developed abdominal pain, pallor, and fatigue, leading to admission at Got Agulu Health Centre. During labour, concerns arose because the baby was descending very slowly and signs of fetal distress began to develop. Due to the increased risk to both mother and baby, she was referred to Siaya County Referral Hospital for specialized obstetric care and advanced management.

Stellah was taken for an emergency caesarean surgery, the surgery was a success and she was taken to the post -natal ward. While in the ward she was administered ceftriaxone,flagyl, tranexamic among others. She was able to respond well to medication ans she was eventually discharged on orals. A follow up clinic was booked for her to check how she was recuperating.

A 17-year-old patient undergoing an emergency caesarean section due to fetal distress secondary to arrest of descent has a generally favorable prognosis when the condition is identified promptly and surgical intervention is performed without delay. For the mother, the emergency caesarean section is intended to prevent complications associated with prolonged or obstructed labor, such as postpartum hemorrhage, uterine rupture, infection, severe maternal exhaustion, and birth canal trauma. Following successful surgery and appropriate postoperative care, Stella is expected to recover well and is also expected to regain normal health within several weeks.
