Michele is the second-born child in a family of two children being raised by a single mother. She currently lives with her grandmother because her mother works as a house help in the city. The income her mother earns is insufficient to cover rent, food, school fees, and other family needs. At home, Michele lives with her grandmother, sibling, and four cousins in a crowded household. Although she has not yet started school, she looks forward to enrolling. She enjoys playing with other children and is known to be cheerful and sociable. Three days before presentation, her grandmother noticed that Michele had developed frequent episodes of loose stools, reduced appetite, and repeated vomiting. Initially, the diarrhea was watery but later became mucoid and blood-stained. As the illness progressed, Michele became increasingly weak, lethargic, and less interested in playing. She was unable to retain food or fluids, appeared tired most of the time, and cried less than usual. Her grandmother also noticed signs of dehydration, including sunken eyes, dry lips, and reduced activity. Concerned by her worsening condition and the persistent bloody diarrhea, she sought urgent medical attention. Upon arrival at the health facility, Michele appeared ill and required prompt assessment and treatment to prevent further complications.

Baby Flavian presented in the facility,was diagnosed with acute dysentry with some dehydration.On examination was sick looking but conscious and responsive.Full hemogram and stool for O/C was done.Michele Flavian was managed on IV ringer's lactate,oral rehydration salts,oral metronidazole and zinc supplements. On discharge the child was stable, afebrile, active and tolerating oral feeds and fluids well.Vitals stable. Michele was diagnosed with amoebic dysentery complicated by severe dehydration secondary to gastroenteritis. At presentation, she was significantly unwell, with persistent vomiting, bloody diarrhea, poor oral intake, weakness, and signs of dehydration. These conditions required prompt medical treatment to prevent life-threatening complications. With appropriate rehydration, anti-amoebic medication, nutritional support, and close monitoring, Michele is expected to recover fully. Her prognosis is good because treatment was initiated in time. However, if left untreated, the illness could have progressed to severe shock, malnutrition, organ dysfunction, or death. Continued follow-up and adherence to treatment are important for complete recovery.
