Abdullah Al Shahid was diagnosed with a serious abdominal condition causing severe stomach pain, along with an injury to his right foot that resulted in pain and swelling. Background
Abdullah Al Shahid is a 6-year-old boy who lives with his parents and younger sister in a small tin-roofed house and is dearly loved by his family. His father works as a day laborer and earns only around BDT 5,500 per month. Abdullah is a cheerful and active child, but severe abdominal pain and an injury to his right foot left him weak. His parents became deeply worried as his condition worsened, knowing they did not have the financial means to arrange proper treatment. Without timely medical care, the abdominal condition could lead to serious complications, while the foot injury may worsen, causing severe pain, infection, difficulty walking, and other potentially life-threatening health problems. The family learned about Helpster Charity through Helpster Volunteer Tanjila Shahin Ema and sought support for their son's treatment.
Medical history
Abdullah Al Shahid was admitted to Seba Hospital on 09 June 2026 with severe abdominal pain, vomiting, and pain and swelling in his right foot. He remained hospitalized for several days and was closely monitored by the doctors and nurses throughout his treatment. During his stay, he received medicines, pain management, and supportive care to relieve his symptoms and help his condition improve. His health gradually improved with treatment, and he was discharged on 13 June 2026 with advice for continued care at home. At the time of discharge, the patient's family expressed their sincere gratitude to the Seba Hospital team for their support and care.
Prognosis
According to the treating doctors, hospitalization, keeping the child NPO (nothing by mouth), conservative treatment, and close monitoring are essential to identify the cause of Abdullah’s acute abdominal condition and prevent further complications. This approach allows the bowel and abdomen to rest while doctors carefully observe his condition and provide supportive care. With timely treatment and monitoring, Abdullah is expected to recover safely and return to his normal activities. However, if left untreated, the abdominal condition may worsen and lead to severe infection, bowel obstruction, dehydration, or damage to internal organs. These complications can become life-threatening
