Janita A., 17

Janita is a 17-year-old girl and the firstborn in a family of five children. She is loving, cheerful, and enjoys playing netball and singing during her free time. Janita dreams of becoming a nurse so that she can care for sick people in her community. Following the death of her father, her mother became the sole provider for the family, working as a housemaid to earn a modest income that barely meets their daily needs. The family lives in a single-room mud-walled house without electricity, and financial constraints often make it difficult to access healthcare promptly. Three days before seeking medical attention, Janita developed a persistent headache and severe abdominal pain, which she initially hoped would resolve on their own. Instead, her condition progressively worsened, and she developed high fever, marked body weakness, loss of appetite, nausea, and increasing fatigue. She became unable to carry out her normal activities and appeared visibly ill. Concerned by her deteriorating condition, her mother sought help from a neighbor with a motorcycle, who rushed Janita to the hospital. The family had learned about Helpster Charity through their church and Janita's school. On arrival, she was febrile, weak, visibly ill, and required urgent medical evaluation and treatment.

JANITA WAS DIAGNOSED WITH SEVERE MALARIA AND PEPTIC ULCER DISEASE AND WAS MANAGED WITH ANTIMALARIALS, ANTIBIOTICS, ANTIPYRETICS, ANTIACIDS AND OTHER DRUGS AS PER THE MEDICAL REPORT. SHE RESPONDED SO WELL TO THE CARE AND MANAGEMENT THAT WAS GIVEN TO HER AND SHE STABILIZED, SHE WAS THEN DISCHARGED HOME ON ORAL MEDICATIONS TO COMPLETE AT HOME.
