Mst Nazmin Akter is 38 weeks of single viable pregnancy with severe Oligohydramnios. Sever Oligohydramnios is a serious pregnancy complication characterized by an unusually low amount of amniotic fluid, defined by ultrasound measurements of the largest pocket of amniotic fluid being less than 1 cm. Oligohydramnios in general is when the amniotic fluid volume is less than expected for the gestational age, with severe cases indicating a particularly low amount.
Background
Mst Nazmin Akter is a caring 26-year-old mother who is eagerly awaiting the birth of her second child while doing her best to support her family through difficult circumstances. She lives with her husband, a day laborer, and their young son, but the family's limited income is barely enough to cover food and daily necessities, making the cost of emergency medical treatment impossible to afford. When Nazmin developed abdominal pain and prolonged watery discharge, doctors discovered severe oligohydramnios, a condition in which the baby is surrounded by dangerously low amniotic fluid. Without timely treatment, the baby could suffer from distress, oxygen deprivation, or even loss of life, while the mother could face serious delivery-related complications. After learning about Helpster Charity through Marketing Officer Pallab Kumar and being assessed by Volunteer Bablu Abdullah, the family found hope for the lifesaving care needed to protect both mother and child.
Medical history
Mst Nazmin Akter was admitted to the hospital on June 11, 2026 with a diagnosis of 38 weeks pregnancy and severe oligohydramnios. On the same day, she successfully underwent a cesarean section and gave birth to a healthy baby girl. Both mother and newborn remained in good condition and were discharged on June 06, 2026. Upon discharge, Husband and mother came to the hospital to receive both the mother and the newborn. The family expressed their heartfelt gratitude to Helpster, Jamuna Clinic, and Md. Abdullah Miah for their dedicated treatment and continuous support throughout the process. Nazmin's husband was especially thankful to Helpster for providing crucial financial assistance during the treatment.
Prognosis
The doctor recommends an urgent cesarean section for Mst Nazmin akter to prevent life-threatening complications for both her and her baby. With severe oligohydramnios could result in fetal distress, stillbirth, or serious maternal complications such as uterine rupture or placental issues. A timely C-section offers the best chance of delivering a healthy baby and protecting the mother’s life. If the procedure is performed promptly mother and child are expected to recover well, with significantly reduced risks of morbidity or mortality. Without this intervention, both mother and baby face a critical situation that could have irreversible consequences.
