Scovia is an 18-year-old Grade 9 student at a local public junior secondary school. She is humble, respectful, hardworking, and academically committed. In her free time, she enjoys reading storybooks and newspapers and dreams of becoming a journalist. Scovia lives with her father in a remote rural area in a two-room mud house. Following the death of her mother, her father, who struggles with alcohol addiction, has been unable to adequately provide for the family. The household relies on stream water for drinking and domestic use, while firewood is used for cooking. Financial hardship often delays access to healthcare when she becomes ill. Scovia was brought to the emergency department by her neighbors after experiencing difficulty breathing, severe chest pain, persistent cough, high fever, joint pains, and progressive body weakness for over a month. Her condition had deteriorated significantly, leaving her weak and unable to carry out normal daily activities. Following clinical examination and laboratory investigations, she was diagnosed with tuberculosis in an immunosuppressed state complicated by severe malaria. She was admitted for urgent treatment, close monitoring, and further investigations.

Scovia was brought to the emergency department with history of, severe Chest, difficult in breathing, high fever, joint pain and general body weakness. Based on laboratory findings, she was diagnosed with; Severe malaria complicated by tuberculosis in Immune suppression syndrome. She admitted for treatment and further investigation, was given; I.v Artesunate, I.v Ceftroxane, I.v Hydrocortisone, I.v paracetamol,P.O RH2E and P.o Pyridoxine. She responded positively to medication and discharged home when stabilized and in good condition.

Scovia presented with advanced tuberculosis complicated by severe malaria in the setting of lowered immunity, making her condition medically complex and potentially life-threatening. She required immediate hospitalization for antimalarial therapy, anti-tuberculosis treatment, supportive care, nutritional rehabilitation, and close monitoring. Although her weakened immune status increased the risk of complications, early diagnosis and initiation of appropriate treatment significantly improved her chances of recovery. With strict adherence to the prescribed medications, regular follow-up, nutritional support, and management of the underlying immune suppression, her prognosis is guarded but favorable, with the expectation of gradual clinical improvement.
