Sadman is a 4-year-old Rohingya child who attends kindergarten and enjoys learning alongside other children in his community. He lives with his parents, grandparents, and other family members in a large household of eight people, all of whom depend on his father's irregular income as a daily wage laborer. Because work is not available every day, the family often struggles to meet basic needs and cannot afford the cost of medical treatment when Sadman becomes seriously ill. He has been suffering from prolonged fever, severe diarrhea, abdominal pain, and dehydration, leaving him weak, tired, and unable to participate in his normal activities. Without timely treatment, his infection and dehydration could worsen rapidly, leading to serious complications and potentially life-threatening consequences. The family learned about Helpster Charity through Helpster Volunteer Ahammod Ali Azad.

Sadman, a 04-year-old male child, was admitted to Orion Hospital on 02.06.2026 through Helpster volunteer Abu Sayeed with complaints of high-grade fever for several days, frequent watery diarrhea, abdominal pain, generalized weakness, and poor oral intake. Upon admission, detailed clinical assessment and necessary investigations were conducted. He was diagnosed with Enteric Fever with Acute Watery Diarrhea (AWD) and Dehydration. The patient received intravenous fluid therapy and rehydration, antibiotic treatment for enteric fever, management of diarrhea and fever, nutritional support, laboratory investigations, supportive care, and close monitoring throughout his hospital stay. He remained hospitalized for seven days and was discharged on 09.06.2026 in stable condition with medications, dietary advice, and follow-up instructions. The treatment expenses were fully supported by Helpster Charity, and the family expresses sincere gratitude to Helpster, its volunteers, and the hospital team for their kind support and care.

Doctors have recommended hospital admission for close monitoring, intravenous fluid therapy to correct dehydration, antibiotic treatment for the underlying infection, management of fever and diarrhea, nutritional support, and regular follow-up care. With timely treatment and proper hydration, most children with this condition recover well, regaining their strength, appetite, and normal daily activities without long-term health problems. The combination of medical treatment, supportive care, and careful monitoring is expected to significantly improve Sadman’s condition and prevent further complications. However, if left untreated, persistent infection and severe fluid loss may lead to worsening dehydration, electrolyte imbalance, intestinal complications, organ dysfunction, and other serious medical emergencies that can result in severe complications or even death.
