Fridah is the third-born child in a family of four and is currently a Form Three student at a rural secondary school. She enjoys playing volleyball and actively participates in sports. Fridah lives with her grandmother, who is the family's sole breadwinner and earns less than KSh 2,500 per month from selling mandazi. The family lives in a single-room rented house, fetches drinking water from a community borehole, and shares a pit latrine with neighboring households. Fridah is a hardworking and determined student who dreams of becoming an engineer and improving the lives of her family and community. However, over the past two days, she developed a severe illness marked by intense chest pain, rapid breathing, wheezing, high fever, extreme weakness, and loss of appetite. She became unable to attend school, perform daily activities, or rest comfortably, causing great concern to her grandmother. Due to financial hardship, her grandmother could not afford immediate medical care. A relative informed her about Helpster Charity Organization after his daughter had previously benefited from the program. Following this advice, Fridah was taken to Mechimeru Hospital, where she received urgently needed treatment and support through Helpster Charity, bringing hope and relief to the family during a difficult time.

After being diagnosed with Severe Pneumonia, Fridah was admitted for medical care and started on appropriate treatment, including antibiotics to fight the infection, medications to reduce fever and relieve symptoms, and supportive care such as adequate fluids, nutrition, and close monitoring of her breathing. The healthcare team regularly assessed her condition to ensure that she was responding well to treatment and to prevent any complications. As a result of the timely medical intervention, Fridah's fever gradually subsided, her breathing improved, and the chest pain and wheezing reduced significantly. Her overall strength and appetite began to return, enabling her to recover steadily. The treatment helped stabilize her condition and greatly improved her chances of making a full recovery and returning to her normal daily activities and education.

According to the doctor's prognosis, Fridah is expected to make a good recovery if she receives timely and appropriate treatment for her Severe Pneumonia. With proper medication, adequate nutrition, rest, and regular medical follow-up, the infection should clear, allowing her breathing to return to normal and enabling her to resume her studies, sports activities, and daily life without significant long-term effects. However, if the condition is left untreated, the infection could worsen and spread throughout the lungs, leading to severe breathing difficulties, reduced oxygen levels in the body, lung complications, bloodstream infection (sepsis), and potentially life-threatening respiratory failure. Untreated severe pneumonia could result in prolonged hospitalization, permanent health complications, or even death. Therefore, prompt medical care and adherence to the prescribed treatment plan are essential to ensure Fridah's full recovery and protect her future well-being.
