Why is treatment sometimes done earlier than the payment?

When a case is urgent and vital, hospitals often proceed with delivering medical care right away to save a life, even before the finalisation of admission procedures. Usually, when this happens, hospitals put the bill on our credit until the funds are transferred to their accounts. That’s why the chronology can sometimes be in disorder.

About digestion system

Nahiyan Hussen has been diagnosed with Acute Gastroenteritis (AGE) and Cystitis, meaning he is suffering from both a stomach infection and a urinary tract infection. He developed abdominal pain, fever, and vomiting, which caused weakness and made it difficult for him to eat and drink properly. Due to the severity of his condition, he required hospitalization for medicines, fluids, and close medical care.

Background

Nahiyan Hussen is a polite, hardworking, and determined 14-year-old boy who lives only with his widowed mother after the death of his father. His mother, Morium Begum, earns just BDT 4,000 per month as a domestic helper, and her small income is barely enough to provide food and shelter, making it impossible to afford Nahiyan's medical treatment. He has been diagnosed with acute gastroenteritis (AGE) and cystitis after developing severe abdominal pain, fever, and vomiting. Without timely treatment, the infection and dehydration could lead to severe complications, including kidney damage, widespread infection, and life-threatening illness. The family learned about Helpster Charity through Helpster Volunteer Tanjila Shahin Ema, whose support gave them hope when they had no other way to pay for treatment.

Medical history

Nahiyan Hussen was admitted to Seba Hospital on 13 June 2026 after suffering from abdominal pain, fever, and repeated vomiting. He stayed in the hospital for several days, where doctors and nurses closely monitored his condition and provided the necessary treatment and care. During his stay, he received medicines and fluids to help reduce his symptoms, improve his health, and regain his strength. His condition gradually improved, and he was discharged on 17 June 2026 with advice to continue his care at home. At the time of discharge, the patient's family expressed their sincere gratitude to Helpster Volunteer Tanjila Shahin Ema for her support and assistance throughout the treatment process.

Prognosis

According to the treating doctor, Nahiyan is expected to make a full recovery with hospitalization, conservative management, and supportive therapy. The treatment will help control the infection, relieve abdominal pain, stop vomiting, restore lost fluids, and improve his overall health. However, if Acute Gastroenteritis and Cystitis are left untreated, severe dehydration and the urinary infection may worsen, potentially spreading to the kidneys or bloodstream and becoming life-threatening. Delayed treatment can also lead to prolonged weakness, kidney complications, and other serious health problems. Early medical care and proper follow-up are therefore essential to ensure a full recovery and prevent long-term complications.
