Why is treatment sometimes done earlier than the payment?
When a case is urgent and vital, hospitals often proceed with delivering medical care right away to save a life, even before the finalisation of admission procedures. Usually, when this happens, hospitals put the bill on our credit until the funds are transferred to their accounts. That’s why the chronology can sometimes be in disorder.

About urology
A bladder stone is a solid mass that forms in the urinary bladder due to the accumulation of minerals in concentrated or stagnant urine. Patients usually present with suprapubic pain, difficulty urinating, poor urine stream, straining during urination, and sometimes blood in urine. Small stones may pass naturally, but larger stones typically require surgical removal (cystolithotomy or endoscopic extraction) to relieve obstruction and prevent complications.
Background
Adamu is a 15 year old boy from a poor family where healthcare access is often a great challenge due to financial constraints. His family depends on unstable income, and medical care is usually sought only when symptoms become severe. He is physically active and helps with daily family activities. Adamu is a secondary school student and he dream of becoming a law enforcement officer in the future. He was referred to our health family by their community leader who often refer patients to UMD, he is experiencing progressive lower abdominal pain and burning sensation, initially mild but worsening over time. This was also associated with suprapubic discomfort, and occasional interruption of urine flow and straining. Symptoms persisted for weeks, affecting his daily activities. Due to worsening discomfort, he was eventually brought to UMD. He was seen, evaluated and diagnosed with bladder stone. He is planned for elective surgery for the extraction of the stone upon approval by Helpster charity foundation.
Prognosis
Adamu was diagnosed with a bladder stone causing pain and significant discomfort. Owing to the size of the stone, it is unlikely to dissolve or pass spontaneously through the urinary outlet. Surgical removal is therefore considered the most appropriate treatment option. The primary complications of a bladder stone include chronic urinary tract infections, persistent hematuria, recurrent bladder outlet obstruction, and a long-term risk of developing squamous cell carcinoma of the bladder due to chronic mucosal irritation. Given the Muhammad's current stable medical condition, the prognosis is excellent. A successful procedure is expected to provide significant relief of symptoms, prevent potential complications, and allow discharge within approximately three days after surgery. The prognosis of a bladder stone is excellent with a low recurrence rate once the stone is surgically or endoscopically removed and the underlying cause, such as bladder outlet obstruction or chronic urinary retention, is successfully treated.
