Mst. Shila Begum is a gentle and caring 19-year-old mother who dreams of safely welcoming her second child and giving both of her children a better future despite living in poverty. She lives with her husband and their young son, while her husband is the only earning member, working as a day laborer with a very limited income that is barely enough to provide food and other basic necessities, making the cost of emergency treatment impossible to afford. Doctors found that her baby is in a breech position and that the baby's movements have decreased, making the pregnancy high-risk. Without immediate treatment, both mother and baby could face serious complications, including fetal distress, lack of oxygen, difficult labor, severe bleeding, stillbirth, or even loss of life. After learning about Helpster Charity from hospital cleaner Momena Begum, the family contacted Helpster volunteer Bablu Abdullah, who assessed their financial condition and gave them hope for the lifesaving support they urgently need.

Mst Shila Begum was admitted to the hospital on June 25, 2026 with a diagnosis of Breech presentation and Previous history of C-section. On the same day, she successfully underwent a cesarean section and gave birth to a healthy baby girl. Both mother and newborn remained in good condition and were discharged on June 30, 2026. Upon discharge, mother came to the hospital to receive both the mother and the newborn. The family expressed their heartfelt gratitude to Helpster, Jamuna Clinic, and Md. Abdullah Miah for their dedicated treatment and continuous support throughout the process. Shila's mother was especially thankful to Helpster for providing crucial financial assistance during the treatment.

According to the treating doctor, urgent hospitalization and delivery by Lower Uterine Caesarean Section (LUCS) are essential to protect the lives of both Shila Begum and her unborn baby. The surgery is expected to safely deliver the baby, prevent complications related to the breech position, prolonged abdominal pain, and reduced fetal movements, and improve the chances of a healthy recovery for both mother and child. However, if left untreated, the baby may develop severe fetal distress due to lack of oxygen, which can result in brain injury, stillbirth, or neonatal death. The mother is also at risk of prolonged obstructed labor, severe bleeding, uterine rupture, infection, and other life-threatening complications. Timely surgical intervention offers the best chance of a safe delivery and recovery for both mother and baby.
