Most. Maksuda Begum is a 38-week and 5-day pregnant woman, gravida 2, para 1, who presented with a breech presentation, a condition in which the fetus is positioned in the uterus with its buttocks or feet pointing downward instead of the usual head-down position. Due to this complication, the fetus is at risk of developing fetal distress, umbilical cord prolapse, birth trauma such as brachial plexus injury, and head entrapment, all of which may require immediate medical intervention to ensure the safety of both the mother and the baby.

Background
Most. Maksuda Begum is a kind, honest, and devoted mother who dreams of safely welcoming her second child and building a better future for her family. She lives with her husband, Torikul Islam, and their 8-year-old daughter, Most. Fatema Akter, who all depend on her husband's small monthly income of only 6,000 BDT, making the cost of hospital care far beyond their means. Although she attended regular antenatal check-ups, doctors later diagnosed her with a breech presentation, a condition that places both mother and baby at high risk during delivery. Without timely treatment, she could develop obstructed labor, severe bleeding, and other life-threatening complications, while her unborn baby could suffer fetal distress or even death. After learning about Helpster Charity through a relative, the family is now seeking support to ensure a safe delivery for both mother and child.
Medical history
Most. Maksuda Begum was admitted on 15.06.2026 with a 38-week-and-5-day pregnancy in breech presentation. Considering the risk associated with the baby's position, she underwent a Lower Uterine Caesarean Section (LUCS) on the same day. The surgery was successful, and the baby was delivered safely without complications. After the operation, she received appropriate medical treatment, postoperative care, and regular nursing support, which ensured a smooth recovery. As her condition remained stable and satisfactory, she was discharged in a safe and improved condition on 18.06.2026.
Prognosis
The recommended treatment for Maksuda is LUCS under SAB, which is the safest and most effective option for delivering the baby in a breech presentation. Early surgical intervention can significantly reduce the risk of complications and improve outcomes for both the mother and the baby. With timely treatment, the baby is expected to be delivered safely and have a healthy recovery. However, if delivery is delayed, the baby may develop serious complications such as fetal distress, umbilical cord prolapse, birth trauma, or head entrapment during labor.
