Sheuly Akter is a kind and courageous 19-year-old young woman who dreams of giving her baby a safe and healthy future despite being abandoned by her husband. She now lives with her parents and two younger school-going siblings, where her father is the only earning member, working as an auto-van driver with a monthly income of only BDT 8,000, making it impossible for the family to afford the cost of the emergency surgery she urgently needs. Doctors have found that her baby is in a breech position, placing both mother and baby at high risk, and without timely treatment, they could face serious, potentially life-threatening complications, including prolonged or obstructed labor, fetal distress, lack of oxygen to the baby, severe bleeding, birth injury, or even loss of life. The family learned about Helpster Charity through a staff member of Life Care Hospital, giving them hope when they had no other way to pay for her treatment. Sheuly Akter was admitted to the hospital on 20/05/2026 at 38 weeks of pregnancy due to complications related to a breech presentation, which made normal delivery risky. Considering the potential risks, doctors proceeded with a planned Lower Uterine Caesarean Section (LUCS). The surgery was successfully performed, and a healthy baby was delivered safely. Following the operation, Sheuly received appropriate post-operative care, including medications, antibiotics, and nutritional support. Both mother and baby remained stable and showed steady improvement during their hospital stay. Within a few days, Sheuly was able to move comfortably and take care of her newborn. She was discharged from the hospital on 23/05/2026 in good health. According to the treating doctor, Lower Uterine Caesarean Section (LUCS) is the safest treatment to deliver the baby because of the breech presentation. With timely surgery, both mother and baby have an excellent chance of a safe delivery, and Sheuly is expected to recover gradually and care for her newborn. However, if left untreated, the breech position may lead to prolonged or obstructed labor, fetal distress, lack of oxygen to the baby, severe bleeding, uterine rupture, birth injury, stillbirth, or other potentially life-threatening complications for both mother and child. Early surgical intervention offers the best chance for a healthy mother and a healthy baby.
