About malaria + enteric fever + colitis
Malaria is a potentially life-threatening infectious disease caused by parasites transmitted to humans through the bite of infected female Anopheles mosquitoes. Once inside the human body, the parasites multiply in the liver and then infect red blood cells, causing recurrent cycles of symptoms, including high fever, chills, fatigue, and, in severe cases, organ damage or failure.This stage of the disease is defined by the evidence of vital organ dysfunction. Entric fever is Aabacterial disease spread through contaminated food, water or close contact. Colitis refers to inflammation of the inner lining of the colon, which is a part of the large intestine. It's a condition that can cause discomfort and various digestive issues. Symptoms of colitis can vary depending on the type but often include abdominal pain and cramping, diarrhea (which may be bloody), an urgent need to defecate, and weight loss.

Background
Chigozie is a 12-year-old boy who goes to school with his siblings. He likes spending time with his dad and has a passion for dancing and playing football. Recently, he started experiencing a persistent headache, fever, and he didn't feel like eating. He also felt weak, had loose stools, and vomited. After seeing the doctor, Chigozie was diagnosed with three health issues: Malaria, Enteric Fever, and Colitis. He needs urgent medical treatment to get better.
Medical history
Joshua presented at the hospital with symptoms that were diagnosed as Malaria + Enteric fever + Colitis. Blood tests were done and followed with anti malarial medications as well as antibiotics. Joshua is back on his feet and going about his daily activities happily.
Prognosis
Malaria should be treated promptly with the use of antimalarial drugs. If left untreated, it can lead to severe complications and even death. It can result in organ failure, severe anemia, neurological issues, and in some cases, prove fatal, making early diagnosis and treatment crucial for preventing these life-threatening consequences.Treatment may involve dietary changes, medication to reduce inflammation and manage symptoms, and in severe cases, surgery. For bacterial infections, antibiotics may be prescribed. Regular medical care is important, as some types of colitis can increase the risk of developing colon cancer.
