Kulsuma Akter Tasfi is a bright and determined 7-year-old girl who dreams of becoming a teacher and making her family proud. She lives with her parents and younger sister in a small tin-roofed house, where her father works as a day laborer and struggles to support the family with his very limited income, making it impossible to afford her medical treatment. As her fever, severe toothache, diarrhea, and weakness worsened, she became unable to eat, attend school, or play, and without timely treatment, the infection and dehydration could lead to serious complications that may threaten her life. Kulsuma Akter Tashfi, a 7-year-old female child, was admitted to Orion Hospital on 17.06.2026 through Helpster volunteer Md Younus with complaints of high-grade fever for more than one week, cough and cold with generalized weakness, severe toothache causing difficulty in eating and daily activities, and abdominal pain with loose stool. On admission, she was clinically evaluated and required investigations were done. She was diagnosed with Acute Viral Febrile Illness associated with dental infection and acute watery diarrhea, leading to significant discomfort and reduced oral intake. She was managed with admission for close monitoring, treatment for fever, control of diarrhea and other symptoms, nutritional support, laboratory investigations, and supportive care. She responded well to treatment over the course of hospitalization. The child remained hospitalized for three days and was discharged on 20.06.2026 in a stable condition with advice for follow-up and continued care. The treatment expenses were fully supported by Helpster Charity, and the family expresses sincere gratitude to Helpster, its volunteers, and the hospital team for their kind support and care.

Doctors have advised hospital admission for close monitoring along with treatment for fever, management of diarrhea and other symptoms, nutritional support, laboratory investigations, supportive care, and regular follow-up. With timely treatment, adequate hydration, proper medications, and management of the dental infection, Kulsuma Akter Tashfi is expected to recover well and gradually return to her normal daily activities. The planned treatment will help control the fever, improve her overall condition, prevent dehydration, and reduce the risk of further complications. However, if left untreated, persistent infection and ongoing fluid loss may lead to severe dehydration, worsening systemic illness, serious complications affecting multiple body systems, and in extreme cases, may even become life-threatening or result in death.
