Rakibul Islam is a polite and determined 10-year-old boy who lives with his parents, studies at a madrasa, and dreams of becoming an Islamic scholar despite his family's poverty. His father is the family's only earning member, working as a day laborer with an irregular income that is barely enough to provide food and other basic necessities, leaving the family unable to afford the cost of hospitalization, medicines, oxygen therapy, and emergency treatment. After learning about Helpster Charity through volunteer Abu Sayeed, the family sought assistance in the hope of saving Rakibul's life and helping him return to his studies. Despite every effort, they have no savings and cannot continue his treatment without financial support. Without timely treatment, severe pneumonia may rapidly progress to respiratory failure, bloodstream infection (sepsis), lung complications, multi-organ failure, and other life-threatening complications that could permanently affect his health or even result in death.

Rakibul Islam, a 10-year-old boy, was admitted to Orion Hospital on 16 June 2026 through Helpster Volunteer Abu Sayeed after suffering from a high-grade fever with chills, persistent cough, difficulty breathing, rapid breathing, chest indrawing, poor appetite, generalized weakness, and reduced oral intake for several days. Following clinical evaluation and necessary investigations, he was diagnosed with severe pneumonia. He remained hospitalized for 2 days, during which he received intravenous antibiotics, nebulization, fever management, supportive care, nutritional support, and close medical monitoring under the supervision of the treating physicians. His condition improved significantly with treatment, and he was discharged on 17 June 2026 in stable condition with prescribed medications, home care advice, and follow-up instructions. The treatment expenses were fully covered by Helpster Charity, and the family expressed their heartfelt gratitude to Helpster Charity, Helpster Volunteer Abu Sayeed, and the dedicated medical team at Orion Hospital for their timely support and compassionate care.

According to the treating physician, Rakibul Islam requires hospitalization with intravenous antibiotic therapy, nebulization, and other supportive treatment under close medical supervision. With timely and appropriate treatment, the lung infection is expected to resolve, breathing will gradually improve, and he has a good chance of making a full recovery. However, if severe pneumonia is left untreated, it can rapidly progress to respiratory failure, bloodstream infection (sepsis), lung abscess, or other life-threatening complications.
