Jakiya Sultana is a bright, hardworking, and determined 14-year-old girl who dreams of continuing her education and building a better future for herself and her family. Her father, Md. Jainal Abedin, is a small-scale farmer and the sole provider for the family, struggling to support Jakiya, her mother Sume Begum, and her two younger brothers with a limited income, making the cost of surgery impossible to afford. On 15 June 2026, Jakiya Sultana's father, Md. On 17 June 2026, she was discharged from the hospital in stable condition and safely returned home. Jakiya Sultana's family was overjoyed by her successful recovery. According to the treating doctors, Appendicectomy under General Anesthesia (GA) will permanently treat Jakiya Sultana’s recurrent appendicitis by removing the inflamed appendix, relieving her recurrent abdominal pain, and preventing future episodes of infection. With timely surgery, she is expected to make a full recovery and return to her normal daily activities. If left untreated, recurrent appendicitis may lead to rupture (perforation) of the appendix, intra-abdominal abscess formation, peritonitis, bowel obstruction, sepsis, and other potentially life-threatening complications.
