Sumi A., 21

Sumi is a 21 y.o. woman, who lives with her husband and her 5 year old child in a tin sheet house in Naranganj outskirts. Sumi's husband is the only breadwinner, who works at the garment factor and being low paid. Sumi needed Cesarean section, that was done in a low-quality hospital. Sumi lost the baby, and got secondary wound infections that can result in sepsis. Sumi was lucky to meet people who advised her Naranganj Poly Clinic and General Hospital and Helpster Charity US. Sumi's family cannot cover the cost of treatment and relies on Helpster Charity donors. Inspite of her unbearable physical and mental pain Sumi is still able to smile.

Sumi developed an infection in a wound, which required a minor surgery called wound debridement. This procedure was followed by regular dressing changes and intravenous antibiotics. During the surgery, the wound was thoroughly cleaned, and then it was consistently dressed with sterile materials. With these treatments, the infection cleared up, and Sumi is now feeling much better.

Mrs.Sumi Akter 21 years old had delivered a baby by C/S in a clinic. After discharging from hospital/clinic she developed severe abdominal pain with discharge from operative area, and a high fever. She was diagnosed as secondary wound infection. If left untreated it may cause sepsis followed by septic shock, and possibly, death.
