Severe pneumonia is a life-threatening complication of a lung infection where the tiny air sacs in your lungs fill with fluid or pus. It causes a severe drop in blood oxygen levels and puts immense strain on vital organs, requiring immediate hospitalization and intensive medical care while Malnutrition is a broad term that refers to deficiencies, excesses, or imbalances in a person's intake of energy and/or nutrients and Anemia is a blood condition that occurs when you lack enough healthy red blood cells or hemoglobin to carry adequate oxygen to your body's tissues. It often leaves you feeling fatigued, weak, and short of breath.

Background
Vallary is a one-year-old girl who is cheerful, active, and enjoys interacting with the people around her. She is at an important stage of growth and development, where proper nutrition, healthcare, and a nurturing environment are essential. Vallary lives with her mother in a rural village. Her mother earns a modest income from a small-scale business, which is mainly used to meet basic household needs. However, the limited earnings are often insufficient to cover healthcare expenses, forcing the family to rely on external assistance whenever illness occurs. Vallary was brought to the hospital after experiencing difficulty breathing, persistent cough, repeated vomiting, fever, refusal to feed, and general body weakness for three days. Her condition progressively worsened, leaving her weak, lethargic, and unable to feed adequately. The breathing difficulties became increasingly severe, causing significant concern to her caregiver. Following clinical examination and laboratory investigations, Vallary was diagnosed with severe pneumonia, anemia, and malnutrition. Due to the seriousness of her condition and the combination of illnesses affecting her recovery, she was admitted for treatment, nutritional support, close monitoring, and further medical management.
Medical history
Vallary was brought to the hospital by her mother with history of; difficult in breathing, Cough, vomiting everything, fever and general body weakness for the last three days. Based on findings, She was diagnosed with severe pneumonia complicated by Malnutrition and anemia. Was admitted for treatment and further investigation. She was given: I.v Xpen, I.v Gentamicin, I.v Hydrocortisone and Supplement F100. She responded positively to medication and discharged home on good condition
Prognosis
Vallary is a 1-year-old baby diagnosed with severe pneumonia, anemia, and malnutrition. This is a serious medical condition because pneumonia affects breathing, anemia reduces the blood's ability to carry oxygen, and malnutrition weakens the body's immune system and growth. She requires urgent medical treatment, nutritional support, and close monitoring. The prognosis is potentially good with prompt and appropriate treatment.
