When a case is urgent and vital, hospitals often proceed with delivering medical care right away to save a life, even before the finalisation of admission procedures. Usually, when this happens, hospitals put the bill on our credit until the funds are transferred to their accounts. That’s why the chronology can sometimes be in disorder.

Allergic rhinitis is an allergic condition causing inflammation of the nasal passages, leading to sneezing, runny nose, nasal congestion, and itchy eyes. It can be triggered by dust, pollen, or other allergens. Typhoid fever is a serious bacterial infection caused by Salmonella typhi, transmitted through contaminated food and water. Symptoms include prolonged high fever, headache, abdominal pain, constipation or diarrhea, poor appetite, nausea, vomiting, and profound weakness. Typhoid fever can lead to life-threatening complications such as intestinal perforation, peritonitis, sepsis, and death if untreated.

Background
Aisha Mustafa is a young girl with a quiet nature and a gentle smile. She lives with her parents and three younger siblings in a small, crowded room in a poor settlement on the outskirts of Birniwa town. Her father is a laborer who works on other people's farms for meager wages, earning barely enough to feed his family. Her mother is a housewife who cares for the children and does what she can to stretch the little money they have. They have no savings, no health insurance, and no family support. Aisha was found to have symptoms of rhinitis, fever, headache, abdominal pains, and general weakness. Associated complains by the mum include loss of appetite, fatigue, and this general feeling of unwell for about 1 week. She was taken to the hospital where laboratory test confirmed Allergic Rhinitis and Typhoid fever. Aisha requires urgent admission and treatment.
Medical history
Aisha, a young girl, was brought to Adari Medical Clinic with persistent nasal symptoms and later diagnosed with typhoid fever. Following clinical evaluation and laboratory confirmation, she was admitted and treated with intravenous antibiotics, intravenous fluids, and supportive care. Her parents were educated on the importance of completing the full course of antibiotics, proper hygiene, and safe water practices. At discharge two days later, Aisha showed marked improvement, with resolution of fever and significant reduction in symptoms. She was sent home with oral antibiotics to complete her treatment and instructions for follow-up. Prognosis
Aisha Mustafa presented with persistent allergic rhinitis symptoms and typhoid fever on further investigation. She had high fever (39.0°C), headache, abdominal pain, and weakness. Laboratory tests confirmed allergic rhinitis (elevated eosinophils) and typhoid fever (positive Widal test). Because typhoid fever requires intravenous antibiotics and close monitoring, Dr. Zainab decided to admit her for 2 days. Prognosis is excellent with prompt treatment. The prognosis of typhoid fever is excellent with a survival rate over 99% when treated early with antibiotics, but it carries a 10% to 15% risk of mortality if left untreated due to severe intestinal complications.
