Mst. Rohima Begum is a caring and resilient 28-year-old mother who is determined to give her children a healthy future despite the hardships her family faces. She lives with her husband, their young son, and is expecting her second child, while her husband is the only earning member, working as a day laborer with a very limited income, making it impossible for the family to afford the cost of the emergency surgery she urgently needs. Having previously undergone a Caesarean section and experienced two pregnancy losses, a neonatal death, and now carrying a baby in a breech position with reduced fetal movements and high blood pressure, both she and her unborn baby are at very high risk. Without timely treatment, they could face serious, potentially life-threatening complications, including uterine rupture, fetal distress, lack of oxygen to the baby, severe bleeding, stillbirth, or loss of the mother's life. Mst Rohima Begum was admitted to the hospital on June 19, 2026 with a diagnosis of Breech presentation and Previous history of C-section. On the same day, she successfully underwent a cesarean section and gave birth to a healthy baby girl. Both mother and newborn remained in good condition and were discharged on June 24, 2026. The attending doctor has advised LUCS (Lower Uterine Cesarean Section) as the safest mode of delivery, given that the fetus is in breech presentation at 37+ weeks of gestation. In such cases, cesarean delivery significantly reduces the risks associated with vaginal breech birth, particularly for a primigravida patient. Timely LUCS can help ensure the safe delivery of the baby, minimizing the chances of birth trauma, oxygen deprivation (birth asphyxia), and fetal distress. If left unmanaged and labor progresses naturally, there is a high risk of serious complications. The baby may suffer from trauma, asphyxia, or even death, while the mother may face life-threatening conditions such as severe hemorrhage, uterine rupture, or infection.
