When a case is urgent and vital, hospitals often proceed with delivering medical care right away to save a life, even before the finalisation of admission procedures. Usually, when this happens, hospitals put the bill on our credit until the funds are transferred to their accounts. That’s why the chronology can sometimes be in disorder.

Umbilical hernia is a swelling that can be seen at the umbilicus, or the belly button. It occurs when there is a defect and failure to close a part of the abdominal wall at the umbilical region, thus allowing fluid and parts of the intestine to push through the defect. Large defects should be repaired and closed by surgery.

Background
Zainab is a 4year old girl from a poor family. She is extroverted and playful. She has dream to become a nurse in the future. About 2 years ago, he was noticed to have developed an umbilical bulge. Sometimes there is pain due to occasional obstruction but the pain subsides after taking pain medications. Diagnosis of umbilical hernia was made, and the child is awaiting treatment.
Medical history
Zainab underwent surgery for symptomatic umbilical hernia on February 20, 2024, which was successful, and she was discharged on February 22, 2024. Since then, Zainab has been feeling much better, enjoying her usual playful activities without experiencing any discomfort. Zainab's mother expressed her gratitude, stating, "My daughter received a successful surgery at no cost to us. We are immensely thankful to the investors of Helpster and the entire staff of Helpster Charity. May God bless them abundantly."
Prognosis
Without intervention, the hernia may continue to grow in size, causing increased discomfort, pain, and a noticeable bulge at the umbilicus. In severe cases, the protruding tissue can become trapped or strangulated, which is a medical emergency. Strangulation occurs when the blood supply to the herniated tissue is compromised, leading to severe pain, nausea, vomiting, and possible tissue damage or necrosis. Prompt surgical repair is typically recommended for umbilical hernias to prevent these complications and ensure the safety and well-being of the affected individual.
