Md. Shahriar Nafiz is a bright, cheerful, and polite 11-year-old boy who dreams of returning to school, playing with his friends, and building a better future. He lives with his parents in a three-member family, where his father is the only earning member, bringing home just BDT 11,000 per month, making it impossible for the family to afford the cost of his emergency surgery while managing their daily household expenses. After suffering from severe pain and swelling for nearly 23 days, doctors found that the blood supply to his left testis had completely stopped, causing irreversible damage, and warned that any further delay could lead to severe infection, spread of infection into the bloodstream (sepsis), life-threatening complications, and permanent damage to his remaining healthy testis. The family learned about Helpster Charity through their treating doctor, and Helpster volunteer Md. Abu Hanif guided them through the assistance process, giving them hope during this medical emergency.

Md. Shahriar Nafiz was admitted to Good Health Hospital on 19 June 2026, where he underwent a successful left orchidectomy with three-point fixation (orchidopexy) of the right testis to treat his prolonged left-sided testicular torsion. Following the operation, he received medications, post-operative care, pain management, and close medical observation, and his condition remained stable throughout his hospital stay. He was discharged on 25 June 2026 with advice to continue his medications and attend follow-up visits for complete recovery. Nafiz and his family express their heartfelt gratitude to Helpster Charity, Helpster volunteer Md. Abu Hanif, the treating doctors, nurses, and all the staff of Good Health Hospital for their timely financial assistance, skilled surgical care, and compassionate support. Their kindness and prompt intervention helped save Nafiz's health, prevented further life-threatening complications, and gave him the opportunity to recover and return to a healthy, active childhood.

According to the treating doctor, urgent surgical treatment, including left orchidectomy to remove the non-viable left testis and three-point fixation (orchidopexy) of the right testis, is essential to prevent further complications and preserve the function of the remaining healthy testis. With timely surgery and proper follow-up, Shahriar Nafiz is expected to recover well, experience relief from pain and swelling, and return to his normal daily activities while protecting his future urological health. However, if left untreated, the damaged testis can become infected, develop gangrene, and lead to severe local infection or sepsis, a life-threatening condition. Delay in treatment also increases the risk of damage or future torsion of the remaining healthy testis, which could result in permanent loss of testicular function, infertility, and even life-threatening complications.
