Frankfrenzel is a 5-year-old boy and the first-born in his family. He is in Grade One and dreams of becoming a pilot. Although both of his parents are alive, he lives with his mother, who is the family's sole provider. She runs a small informal business, earning less than KSh 2,800 per month, which is barely enough to meet their basic needs. The family lives in a single rented room, relies on a community borehole for water, and shares a pit latrine with neighbouring households. Two days before admission, Frankfrenzel developed a persistent productive cough, wheezing, chest indrawing, fever, and increasing difficulty breathing. His mother was deeply concerned but could not afford medical care because of financial hardship. A previous Helpster beneficiary linked her to a Helpster volunteer, who advised her to take the child immediately to Mechimeru Model Health Centre. Through Helpster Charity's support, Frankfrenzel was able to receive prompt medical assessment and treatment despite his family's inability to meet the cost of care.

Frankfrenzel was managed for bronchiolitis through supportive medical care aimed at easing his breathing and preventing complications. He received close monitoring of his breathing status, fever management, and medication to relieve airway inflammation and wheezing, along with adequate fluids to prevent dehydration. In cases where breathing difficulty was significant, oxygen support and nebulization were provided to improve oxygen levels and open the airways. Following treatment, his chest indrawing reduced, wheezing subsided, and his cough gradually improved. His breathing became easier, appetite returned, and overall strength improved, indicating a positive response to treatment. With continued care and follow-up, he is expected to recover fully and resume normal daily and school activities.

Frankfrenzel has been diagnosed with bronchiolitis and remains admitted for close monitoring and treatment. He is receiving oxygen therapy as needed, supportive care, adequate fluids, and careful monitoring of his breathing and feeding. Although bronchiolitis can worsen rapidly in young children, especially when breathing becomes difficult, he is responding to treatment and is under continuous observation. His prognosis is favorable if he continues to improve with the current management. However, he will require completion of treatment, close follow-up, and prompt review should his breathing difficulty or feeding problems recur after discharge.
