Labid Yesmin is a determined and resilient 15-year-old girl who, despite being speech-impaired, continues her education at a special school with dreams of building an independent future. Her family is facing extreme financial hardship, as her father, Md. Yusuf Khan, is unable to work after suffering a stroke, while her mother, Shahana Begum, cares for the family, including Labid and her speech-impaired elder brother, Rakib, who recently completed his SSC examination. Living in an old tin-roofed house and relying on the support of relatives and well-wishers, they cannot afford the cost of emergency surgery after Labid was diagnosed with acute appendicitis. The family learned about Helpster Charity through community outreach volunteers Anowar Hossain Anu and Meghlal Roy, giving them hope during this crisis. Without an urgent appendectomy, her inflamed appendix could rupture, causing widespread abdominal infection (peritonitis), sepsis, multiple organ failure, and potentially life-threatening complications.

Labid Yesmin, a 15-year-old speech-impaired girl, was admitted to Al Aqsa Hospital & Diagnostic Centre on 18 June 2026 with severe abdominal pain, high fever, vomiting, and right lower abdominal tenderness. After clinical evaluation, she was diagnosed with acute appendicitis and underwent a successful open appendectomy on 19 June 2026. She remained hospitalized for four days, receiving antibiotics, pain management, wound care, and close postoperative monitoring, and was discharged in stable condition on 22 June 2026. Her family expressed heartfelt gratitude to Helpster Charity, volunteers Anowar Hossain Anu and Meghlal Roy, and the medical team of Al Aqsa Hospital & Diagnostic Centre for their compassionate support and life-saving care.

According to the treating doctor, an appendectomy is the definitive treatment for Labid Yesmin's acute appendicitis and is expected to relieve her pain, eliminate the source of infection, and allow her to make a full recovery. With timely surgery, appropriate antibiotics, and proper postoperative care, she should be able to return to her normal daily activities and continue her education without long-term health problems. Regular follow-up and adherence to medical advice will help ensure complete healing. However, if the surgery is delayed or left untreated, the inflamed appendix may rupture, leading to severe abdominal infection (peritonitis), sepsis, multiple organ failure, and potentially life-threatening complications.
