Nana Muktari a two-year-old year old child who lives with her parents and two other siblings in her grandparents family compound in Bagaji, a community under Karu LGA. The father, Malam Muktari is an Okada rider in Bagaji village. His monthly income is approximately 35,000. This is because, the motorcycle he is operating was gotten via hire purchase and he is currently paying. They live with other family members and Malam Muktar is responsible for their upkeep. None of the children of school age attends school. Nana Muktari 2 year old child was presented by her mother to the clinic with complaints of fever and inactivity. Efforts has been made to manage the situation at home with paracetamol and antibiotics malaria at home but the child kept looking weak. Upon physical examination, child was looking weak, pale and sick. Laboratory investigations was conducted and the child was diagnosed with Severe malaria and anemia. The child was immediately admitted and treated.

The Child was admitted and treated for days with anti malaria drugs and transfused with a screened blood under close monitoring and observations. Patient tolerated the process well and showed vital signs of recovery and has since been discharged with oral medications such as folic acid, albendazole, cefuroxime, arthemetre for further recovery.

Prompt diagnosis, appropriate antimalarial therapy, correction of fluid and electrolyte abnormalities, close monitoring of hemoglobin levels, nutritional support, and blood transfusion where indicated are essential to achieve recovery and prevent complications. Early intervention for Nana will result in a favorable outcome, whereas delayed treatment is associated with a significantly increased risk of severe complications and death.
