Mim Akter is a bright and hardworking 12-year-old girl who studies in Class 7 and dreams of building a better future through education. Her father, Md. Rubel Sheikh, works as a rickshaw driver and earns only about 8,500 Tk per month, while her mother, Parvin Akter, is a housewife, and the family also supports her grandmother, making it extremely difficult to afford medical treatment. For the past two years, Mim has suffered from repeated throat infections, painful swallowing, fever, and frequent nosebleeds, and her condition gradually worsened, affecting her studies, nutrition, and daily activities. The family learned about Helpster Charity through a medical outreach camp in Geneva Camp, which gave them hope when they had no means to pay for her treatment. Without timely medical and surgical care, the recurrent infections and persistent nosebleeds could lead to severe blood loss, airway obstruction, breathing difficulties, serious infection spreading to nearby tissues, and other potentially life-threatening complications, putting both her health and future at serious risk.

With Helpster’s support, Mim Akter was admitted to Al-Manar Hospital Ltd on June 28, 2026, to treat her chronic tonsillitis and frequent nosebleeds. Doctors stabilized her condition upon arrival and successfully performed a tonsillectomy along with a procedure to stop her nasal bleeding on June 29, 2026. After a smooth recovery, she spent a total of three days in the hospital before being discharged on June 30, 2026. She went home with a clear care plan that included prescribed antibiotics, pain medications, and a mouthwash to help her heal properly. The treatment worked perfectly, and Mim is now resting safely at home, completely free of throat pain and finally able to eat comfortably again.

The recommended treatment is adenotonsillectomy with endoscopic cauterization of the bleeding vessels, which will remove the diseased tonsils and adenoids and control the recurrent nosebleeds. According to the treating physician, timely surgery is expected to relieve Mim Akter's recurrent sore throat, painful swallowing, difficulty eating, and repeated episodes of nasal bleeding. The treatment will help improve her breathing, reduce the frequency of infections, and allow her to return to normal school and daily activities with a better quality of life. However, if left untreated, she may continue to suffer from frequent throat infections, persistent nasal obstruction, recurrent nosebleeds, poor nutrition due to difficulty eating, and worsening discomfort.
