Araf Khan is a cheerful and intelligent 7-year-old boy who studies in Class 1 and dreams of continuing his education despite growing up in the crowded Geneva Camp in Dhaka. His father, Mohammad Miraj, works as a rickshaw puller and earns only about BDT 8,500 per month, while his mother, Muskan Khatun, is a housewife, making it difficult for the family to meet daily expenses and afford emergency medical care. With Helpster’s support, Araf Khan was admitted to Al-Manar Hospital on June 28, 2026, presenting with severe phimosis and impending urinary retention. Doctors immediately stabilized his condition and performed a successful emergency circumcision surgery that very same day on June 28 to relieve his acute pain and urinary blockage. Following a smooth post-operative recovery, he spent a total of two days in the hospital before being discharged on June 29, 2026. He returned home with a comprehensive post-discharge care plan consisting of oral antibiotics, pain relief syrups, a suppository for severe discomfort, and a topical healing ointment. The timely intervention worked perfectly, completely freeing Araf from his debilitating pain and allowing him to return to his normal daily activities as a happy, healthy first grader.

According to Dr. Nasim Tanver, Araf required emergency circumcision to treat severe phimosis and acute urinary retention.
