Morgan is the second-born in a family of five children. He is a cheerful boy who enjoys reading and drawing and dreams of becoming a pilot. He lives with both parents and his siblings in a two-room mud-walled house without electricity. His mother is a homemaker, while his father is the sole breadwinner, earning a modest income by working as a caretaker in another person's compound. Three days before admission, Morgan developed chest pain, persistent cough, high fever, difficulty breathing, severe body weakness, loss of appetite, chills, headache, and vomiting. As his illness progressed, he became increasingly weak, less active, and unable to eat or sleep comfortably because of persistent fever and breathlessness. His family had learned about Helpster Charity during a parents' meeting at Morgan's school. When his condition became critical, his father carried him on a bicycle to the hospital for treatment. On arrival, Morgan was febrile, acutely ill, and in respiratory distress. After clinical assessment and investigations, he was diagnosed with severe malaria and pneumonia and was admitted for urgent treatment.

MORGAN WAS MANAGED WITH ANTIMALARIALS, ANTIBIOTICS, CORTICOSTEROIDS AND OTHER DRUGS AS PER THE MEDICAL REPORT. HE RESPONDED SO WELL TO THE CARE AND MANAGEMENT THAT WAS GIVEN TO HIM AND STABILIZED. HE WAS THEN DISCHARGED HOME ON ORAL MEDICATIONS TO CONTINUE WITH AT HOME.

Severe malaria is a medical emergency requiring immediate hospitalization and intravenous medication. While modern treatments are highly effective, the prognosis depends entirely on the speed of intervention; untreated cases carry a near 100% mortality rate, whereas properly treated cases significantly reduce fatalities. Pneumonia prognosis is highly individualized, depending primarily on the patient’s age, overall health status, and the severity of the infection. While most outpatients recover within a week to a month, severe cases requiring ICU care carry mortality rates ranging from 20% to over 50%
