Bridges is a 2½-year-old boy and the youngest of four children, raised by a single mother following her separation from his father. The family lives in a single-room mud-walled house in a rural community and depends on his mother’s limited income for food, clothing and healthcare. They fetch water from a distant river, and their home often leaks during heavy rains, further reflecting their difficult living conditions. Bridges became seriously ill with a five-day history of high intermittent fever, persistent cough, difficulty breathing and repeated vomiting. His condition progressively deteriorated; he developed poor appetite, reduced fluid intake, marked weakness and increasing breathing difficulty. Two days before admission, he became dizzy, unusually quiet and significantly less active, no longer playing or interacting normally. A Helpster volunteer encountered Bridges during a community visit and found him visibly ill, weak and in significant distress. His mother explained that she could not afford medical care. Given the severity of his condition, he was urgently referred to Al Ihsaan Health Centre, where he received treatment with support from Helpster Charity Organization.

Brigde was admitted to Al Ihsaan Health Centre with severe pneumonia, presenting with high fever, persistent cough, difficulty breathing, and general body weakness. Due to the severity of the infection, the medical team immediately admitted the child for close monitoring and treatment. Through the support of Helpster Charity Organization, Brigde received timely medical care without placing a financial burden on the family. During hospitalization, Brigde was treated with appropriate intravenous antibiotics, oxygen therapy to improve breathing, intravenous fluids to prevent dehydration, fever-reducing medication, nutritional support, and comprehensive nursing care. The child was closely monitored to ensure a steady recovery and to prevent complications. As treatment progressed, Brigde's fever subsided, breathing became easier, the cough reduced, and appetite gradually improved. The child regained strength, became more active, and responded well to treatment. After completing the prescribed course of treatment, Brigde was discharged in a stable condition with follow-up advice and medication.

Bridges was diagnosed with severe pneumonia after presenting with fever, persistent cough, difficulty breathing, vomiting and marked weakness. His condition required urgent admission, appropriate antibiotics, supportive care, oxygen if indicated, hydration and close monitoring. Untreated severe pneumonia may lead to hypoxia, sepsis or respiratory failure. Full recovery is expected.
